Jess & Tyler, can we just say power couple?!
Usually, I meet my couples for the first time at their engagement session which means the first few minutes are just a bit nerve-wracking while we all warm up to each other (that “we” includes the camera). Luckily, with Jess & Tyler, we instantly connected and went straight into the heart of their session – lots of laughing and me attempting to convince Jess that she’d most definitely love the “lovey dovey” shots when she sees them in the gallery.
I absolutely loved working with these two. They really knew what they wanted for their engagement session, so I left all of our locations up to them and they left the shooting and lighting up to me. The mutual trust made for an awesome sunset session! They really wanted to capture the essence of the city in their session, so we started with the lovely Libby Hill park before heading to one of their favorite restaurants in downtown Richmond for drinks (well, drinks for them since 21 is taking forever to make its way around). I’m so glad I trusted their locations on this because their session was SO FUN! I love when I have the chance to meet new couples and explore the locations that mean the most to them.
As you’ll see when you scroll down, Jess suggested a few romantic comedy movie cover poses and they just may be some of my favorites shots from the session. We’ll definitely have to recreate them at their wedding in June!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their Richmond engagement session!

She was so easy and calming to work with, as it was my first branding session. She led me throughout the way and the images are perfect! “
"I am certain that because Jontell got to know me and my brand up front, it allowed her to capture exactly what I wanted.
