One of my goals for 2020 was to visit new wineries and coffee shops in my state since those are two of my favorite places to hang out. Then, coronavirus happened. While coffee shops are still out of the picture (don’t worry, I’m still doing lots of grab & go from my local coffee shops, #supportsmallbusiness), I’ve found that most wineries in the area have created a safe space for people to come enjoy wine. One of my new favorite activities is grabbing a ton of snacks and meeting up with friends for a socially distant wine picnic!
Morais Vineyards is one of my favorite wedding venues in Virginia. It’s also a quick drive from my house, so I love popping over there to read a book or meet a friend for a picnic and wine slushies.
While I almost always opt for a wine slushie, I highly recommend a tasting or trying out a few different glasses of wine each time you visit. Morais has wines that are inspired by Portuguese heritage; this means that they offer some specialty wines that you can’t get at other vineyards in the area. One of my favorites is their Verdelho which is a dry, fruit forward wine.
I want to keep growing my list of wineries to explore in Virginia. If you have a favorite, drop a comment below or send me a message!

She was so easy and calming to work with, as it was my first branding session. She led me throughout the way and the images are perfect! “
"I am certain that because Jontell got to know me and my brand up front, it allowed her to capture exactly what I wanted.
