Welcome to the Jontell Vanessa Photography blog!

I personally LOVE reading travel recaps whenever I’m planning for my next trip. Seeing how other people tackled a new city always helps me plan my own itinerary. Today’s blog post is a Nashville Girl’s weekend recap. I’ll admit that I try not to use my phone too much while traveling, so I’m popping in some of the random photos we took during the weekend and giving you all the details about what we eat and where we explored.

I headed to Nashville with my friend, Alyssa. We wanted to take a fun, quick weekend trip and decided on Music City since it was a quick flight and would be fun to explore while it was decorated for Christmas.

Saturday:

5am flights are NOT my favorite thing. Plus, Nashville was an hour behind Virginia, so the morning felt long. After some flight delays, we finally arrived in Nashville around 9am and went to find food as soon as possible.

Day 1 was definitely our food day. We were so tired from the early flight that food, napping, and some minor exploring were all we really had the energy to do. I seek out a coffee shop anywhere I go and our first stop was Just Love Coffee; my iced chai was delicious. Next, we headed to the famous Biscuit Love for brunch (yes, it was worth the long line and the hype).

The rest of the day consisted of exploring Broadway, resting up before dinner at Bar Taco, dessert at Christie’s Cookie Co. and then drinks before heading in for the night.

Sunday:

We used Sunday to explore some of the areas that were farther away from our hotel since it was our only full day in the city. We took an uber out to the Grand Ole Opry which was definitely one of my favorite parts of visiting Nashville. I’m not a huge country music fan, but the backstage tour of the Opry gave me a whole new respect for the genre. This should definitely be at the top of your Nashville list. After spending some time at Madam Tussauds and the Gaylord Hotel, we headed to Hattie B’s for some famous hot chicken (and it didn’t disappoint).

Going out on a Sunday night in December doesn’t give you the best bar scene, but we started the night at Acme with some frosé and then spent the majority of our night at Jason Aldean’s on Broadway. It was the perfect place for a view and some good music!

Monday:

We scheduled a 7pm flight out so that we’d have most of Monday to explore. It was a rainy day, so we decided to keep its simple and do more indoor things. We spent the morning exploring the Country Music Hall of Fame and then hopped on a trolley tour of Nashville. It was such a fun weekend – I can’t wait for my next trip to Music City!

She was so easy and calming to work with, as it was my first branding session. She led me throughout the way and the images are perfect! “

"I am certain that because Jontell got to know me and my brand up front, it allowed her to capture exactly what I wanted.
