Have you wondered if your brand is ready for an official brand photography session? Brand photography is an investment that can have a huge impact on your business. I’m sharing a few of the common reasons I hear service providers and product based brands decide to invest in photography. These scheduling tips can apply to small and large brands; they also can apply whether you are envisioning a full-scale brand session or just basic headshots!

Annual/Seasonal Brand Photos: My advice for ALL business owners: plan one major full-length brand session (can be 2-3 hours or 4-6 hours, depending on your industry). This session will give you cohesive photos that can be used throughout all of your marketing materials and help with consistency across your visual brand. After you’ve done this once, you can focus on shorter sessions annually or on a schedule that fit your changing brand needs.

Website Launch or Rebrand: Launching a new business? Unveiling a new website? Get a brand session on the calendar. This is one of the top reasons my clients are choosing to invest in brand photos. If you’re working on changing your brand identity, new brand photos will help you create alignment and consistency across your website, social media, and other marketing collateral. You can also capture celebratory photos that work great for your launch content plan.

On-boarding new team members: Bringing on new team members is the perfect opportunity to update your entire team’s brand photos. You can do individual updated headshots as well as new group photos. If your company hires often, consider connecting with a local photographer who can do mini-sessions for your new hires as they onboard.

Moving into a new market: Deciding to change your target audience? Moving to a new state soon? Entering a new market can mean a few different things; if you’re going to be connecting with new types of clients, make sure your brand photos capture the attention of your new audience.

Staying On-Trend: While I’m not one to chase trends, there’s no doubt that social media has made having a polished brand more important than ever. I’ve had clients choose to book a brand session because they noticed that their competitors have also done so. For example, if all the real estate agents in your area have curated and polished headshots, then you should too! Additionally, you’ll have a strong library of images to use in your Reels, Tiktoks, and whatever other trends come your way.

Your brand photos are how your audience visually connects with your business. There’s no surprise that our current media landscape has a large emphasis on digital platforms and online media. Many of your inquires reach out via your website or a social media platform, meaning they’re encountering your brand long before they ever have a one-on-one conversation with you. Make sure your visual brand is leaving a lasting impression!
