I was excited about Kyleigh’s brand shoot the moment her inquiry landed in my inbox! Kyleigh is a super talented food blogger and food photographer based in the Northern Virginia area. I could scroll through her creative shots on Instagram all day long!

Her blog is called Barley & Sage, inspired by her sweet puppy Barley and her last name. So clever, right?!

Our goal for Kyleigh’s session was to create a collection of images that would help Kyleigh’s audiences put a face to her brand. She spends a lot of time in the kitchen, so we searched through dozens of Airbnbs to find a modern, naturally lit kitchen space. It took a lot of searching, but we finally found the perfect space in a cute little neighborhood outside of Richmond, Virginia.

With photos that featured cupcakes and cookies, our workspace smelled absolutely delicious! Kyleigh’s session was really fun and she made my job incredibly easy by thinking of all the little details and props that would accent her images well. She even brought her own KitchenAid mixer with a cute ceramic attachment! Throughout her session, we had a blast chatting about all of the things from being business owners to life during Covid.
