I’m excited to introduce you to May – the owner of MW Creations – on the blog today! May’s sweet daughter, Schyler, messaged me about scheduling a brand shoot for her mom, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to photograph these for her. May creates custom, handmade wood signs for all occasions. When we were planning for her session, May told me about how she finds joy in creating personalized pieces that bring meaning to a person’s space. Although her style leans towards rustic farmhouse and simplistic designs, she creates signs for all different occasions and style preferences.

One goal going into her shoot was to create images that appeal to clients through simplicity and authenticity. Since May’s clients are excited to see their final product, I knew it would be fun to capture more of the behind the scenes work that they may not get to see. We captured the session in her workspace, which was beautifully decorated and housed all of her tools and some of the pieces that she was working on at the time.

I love that we were able to create a collection of images that spoke to the various elements of May’s brand and creative process!
