You are going to love today’s blog post! Sonchari and Kartik’s elegant and colorful wedding celebration was a ton of fun and I’m incredibly thankful that they trusted me to be a part of it. We started the wedding weekend with a traditional Indian wedding ceremony at Kentlands Mansion in Maryland and concluded with an energy filled celebration at the Potomac View Terrace on the National Mall.

First, we started the ceremony celebration with the sweetest first look. I always love capturing how a groom reacts to seeing his bride all dressed up for the first time on the wedding day. The ceremony events started with Kartik’s baarat as all of his friend’s and family danced and celebrated the marriage; Kartik was met at the main house by all of Sonchari’s friends and family and the ceremony began. The entire day was filled with energy, vibrant colors, and sweet traditions.

For the second day of Sonchari and Kartik’s wedding celebration, we got to hang out in Washington D.C.! We started the day at The Madison Hotel where Sonchari and Kartik got ready for the day and shared their first look. The hotel had a cute little terrace on one of the penthouse rooms and it was the perfect spot for these two to share their day two first look. Then, we headed over to the Potomac View Terrace at the American Pharmacists Association – this was my first time shooting at a venue so close to the National Mall and I loved being able to view classic DC monuments right from the reception space.

The night was filled with lots of dancing and heartfelt speeches from the people who know and love Sonchari and Kartik best.
