Welcome to the Jontell Vanessa Photography blog!

Let’s talk wedding venues! There are a lot of beautiful wedding venues in Virginia. From ballrooms to farm venues to historic estates, there’s something for everyone! When picking the perfect venue for your special day, there are definitely a few important things to consider: guest count, your desired mood/theme, location, and budget.

Today, I’m sharing 10 beautiful venues in Virginia to spark your interest and help you figure out the key things you’re looking for in a venue. The list below ranges from charming farm weddings to elegant ballrooms. You can also visit my wedding venues Pinterest board for even more inspiration!

1. Morais Vineyards – Bealeton, Virginia

This is at the top of my list because anyone who knows me has heard me rave about this beautiful venue. Inspired by Portuguese architecture, the courtyard steals my heart every time. Morais also has beautiful getting ready spaces with lots of natural light (a wedding day must!). Their ballroom is the perfect place to dance the night away with all the people you love!

2. Great Marsh Estate – Bealeton, Virginia

Just down the road from Morais Vineyards is another gorgeous venue. Great Marsh Estate is a beautiful Georgian Estate nestled about an hour away from DC. It’s great venue choice if you’re looking to accommodate your bridal party for pre-wedding festivities.

3. Main Street Station – Richmond, Virginia

This venue is very simple and sophisticated while being a historic piece of Richmond, Virginia! It’s perfect if you’re looking for an indoor venue. Since it’s a train station, it has an industrial look that you can style to fit your perfect wedding day design. There’s also a ton of natural light (a wedding day must have!).

4. Burlington Plantation – Charles City, VA

This a new venue located just outside of Richmond, Virginia and after one visit, I was in LOVE. Burlington Plantation has a modern and elegant feel which will help you create a classy, timeless wedding day.

5. John Marshall Ballrooms

When I think of the John Marshall Ballrooms, I think pure elegance. This signature Richmond venue has some perfect spots for indoor portraits! It’s also nestled in the city just steps away from the Capitol Building and other fun portrait locations.

6. Sundara – Roanoke, VA

If you’re a bride who wants to have your sweet pup join you on your wedding day, then Sundara may be the place for you. This dog-friendly venue has beautiful gardens, breathtaking mountain views (you know I’m a sucker for mountain views!), and a ceremony space that is straight out of a fairytale.

 7. Old Metropolitan Hall

Old Metropolitan Hall just sounds like a classy name, doesn’t it? Charlottesville, Virginia boasts venues with beautiful mountain views, but Old Met is beautiful because it’s nestled on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall. It’s perfect for couples who want to have a more urban wedding in the Blue Ridge. The event space is chic, stylish and intimate. Also, couples can choose to have their ceremony at The Haven and 100% of the rental fees go back into helping the Charlottesville community (gotta love ethical weddings!).

 8. Stone Tower Winery

Nestled in Loudoun County with some of the best Rosé in Virginia, Stone Tower Winery is perfect for couples that want to host a winery wedding in the Northern Virginia region.

These last few venues are some local venues that I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot at quite yet, but I’m excited to photograph at these gorgeous venues very soon!

9. King Family Vineyards

Another signature Charlottesville venue, King Family is perfect for the couple that wants a timeless wedding with gorgeous mountain views as their main accent.

10. Pippin Hill Farm

Because honestly, who doesn’t love Pippin Hill? With a love for Charlottesville and mountain views, I love visiting Pippin whether it’s for a wedding or mid-week wine tasting. As one of Virginia (and the nation’s) top wedding venues, Pippin Hill is perfect for the couple that wants their wedding to be an upscale event that they’ll never forget.
