In January, I made a goal to plan a wedding styled shoot that reflected my brand. I spent weeks procrastinating on school work and making plans for this shoot. I sent tons of emails, created way too many lists, and finally figured out how to work Microsoft Excel. Everything was supposed to be perfect. Well…it wasn’t. Sort of like a wedding day, brides plan for perfection and things just go wrong. Luckily, everything that went wrong while planning this shoot helped pave the way for something that was a better fit. The planning process was not as simple as I thought it would be (helpful hints blog post to come), but it was so fun to plan a styled photoshoot that was my creative vision from start to finish. I got to incorporate lots of purple and some rustic, romantic vibes. We were able to shoot on a beautiful day in March and The Mill at Fine Creek served as the perfect backdrop. One of my new favorite wedding venues!
This post wouldn’t be complete without a HUGE thank you to all of the amazing vendors who gave their time and creativity to the shoot. Its success never would have been possible without their help and I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team of creatives. Also, check out that cute couple! Special thanks to my sweet friends, Katiana and Daren, who were willing to come play dress up for the day.
This shoot was featured in Chic Brown Bride, an amazing online blog catered to helping women of color plan their weddings. I felt truly honored that they chose to feature this styled shoot.
